ABOUT NIGHTSTREAM

WHAT IS NIGHTSTREAM?

Boston Underground Film Festival, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, North Bend Film Festival, The Overlook Film Festival, and Popcorn Frights Film Festival have teamed up for a collaborative virtual festival experience called NIGHTSTREAM running from October 8-11, 2020; select films and event recordings will also be available through October 14th via VOD.

WHERE DO THE PROCEEDS GO?

NIGHTSTREAM is a fundraiser event and all proceeds go directly to the artists and filmmakers involved, as well as to the festivals to recoup losses incurred by COVID-19, and to charities and small businesses local to each fest.

HOW DO I ATTEND EVENTS?

Log into your Eventive account on your computer browser and navigate to the event in the NIGHTSTREAM catalog. As long as you unlock the event, you should be set to watch at showtime!

Please note: events are not compatible with TV or mobile apps and must be viewed via your computer web browser.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WATCH MY FILMS AND WHAT IS A WATCH WINDOW?

A “watch window” identifies how long you have to watch your unlocked film or event. To find this, navigate to a film or event page in the NIGHTSTREAM catalog and scroll below the header image to reference how long you will have to view. You may watch the film or event as many times as you’d like within this window, and can pause and resume as well.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WATCH WINDOW PASSES?

Viewing windows are the most important thing to keep track of at a virtual fest! Similar to a physical theater experience, you must watch a film in your specified showtime. We refer to this as the “watch window”. Once this window closes you can no longer access your screening.

WHAT ABOUT EVENTS I CANNOT PRESELECT?

Some events do not allow pre-selection for various reasons. Since these events are first-come, first-served, please log into your Eventive account and show up at the scheduled start time for your best chance of attending!

WHAT IS GATHER?

Gather is our festival social hub. ALL Pass Holders will have exclusive access to our Festival lounge 24 hours day from Friday – Sunday this weekend to meet filmmakers, talk about movies and hang out. Our lounge is located inside Gather, an online town that resembles an 8-bit videogame map with video conferencing capabilities. Inside our virtual bar, you’ll control a 2D avatar that can converse with video and audio as you approach other avatars. Join us for Happy Hours each day after the festival “Evening Rituals” and for After Parties following the last event each night.
